Apostle Matthew D. A. Oluwajoba is the General Overseer of Christ United Ministries International, headquartered in Houston, Texas. He is also the President of City Changers International (the evangelical arm of CUMI) which is responsible for Crusades and Mission outreaches.
He is a man of God with great prophetic insight. In his teaching and preaching, he shares what God tells him without fear or prejudice. He is an accountant by training, teacher and an administrator.
He is enveloped with the anointing of the Holy Spirit and God is using him miraculously. He has traveled extensively to many nations of the world to evangelize. He is an Apostle “Emeritus”. A praying machine of our time. He is of the Abraham genealogy, a spiritual father to thousands of people. He is a devoted prophet dedicated to proclaiming the power of God.
He received the calling of God in January 1988 but was not in full-time ministry until July 1993 in Osogbo, Osun State in Nigeria. The Church started in August 1993 at 1 Onward Avenue, Oke Aiyepe, Osogbo. Due to the move of God manifested by miracles, signs and wonders, the Church experienced phenomenal growth from mere 40 members at the inception service to over 500 members drawn from across the country worshipping weekly at Osogbo.
In December 1996, by the instruction of God, He moved to the United Kingdom where he continued the work of God. Acts 19:20 says “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed” and this was the same experience in the United Kingdom. During this time 8 branches were established in the UK, 7 branches in Brazil, 8 branches in Sierra-Leone, 22 branches in India, 2 branches in USA. In 2013, He ordained 102 ministers to serve in various branches of CUMI in the UK.
In 2007, he was honored by the Mayor of Houston, Texas. He has also been honored by the Mayor of Freetown, Sierra-Leone as well as the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and several Christian associations.
He graduated with a B.A in Theology at Power Age Bible College, London in 2007. He received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Grace Hill Bible University, NJ in June 2015.He currently sits on the board of advisors of the Graduate School at Valparaiso University, Indiana.
After 15 years in the UK, God began to speak to him about moving to USA. He struggled with it for a while and in 2011 finally submitted to the will of God. He is married to Pastor Covenant Oluwajoba and is blessed with 3 children – Olive, Marvelous and Gracious.
