POWER OF PRAYER

 Power of Prayer

Acts
12:5-19…..Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered
to God for him by
the Church……
God says He wants to do something
great in our midst; God wants to do something spectacular in our life; God
wants to turn impossibility to possibility; but He wants us to pray. It is
important for us to pray, Jesus started with prayer, He ended with prayer.
Prayer has to be in our life, prayer has to be in our system, i mean effective prayer. I do not mean 10
minutes prayer, but fervent prayer, prayer that will shake the kingdom of
darkness, am talking about prayer that will destabilize the devil; am talking
about prayer that will return arrow back to sender; am talking about prayer
that will make all your enemies to be shaking; the prayer that will bring the
kingdom of heaven down to your house; am talking about the prayer that will
scatter all your enemies in the name of Jesus Christ……Amen….
Regardless of what you are going
through, God is still working; regardless of what people have said about you,
God is still working. You might have condemned by people, by your enemies,
people have said your case is a dead case, but I want to say to you, with God
all things are possible. Your case will not be the first in the record of
impossibility, because in the record of God all things are possible. Praise the
name of the Lord.
Jesus said to his disciples in
Matthew 26:41….Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. the Spirit
indeed is willing but the flesh is weak…. Prayer is the thing that can make
our flesh strong; I want you to declare this week a week of prayer because 2
thing will happen this week; first the month of is ending this week and
the same week, we are starting the  new month of ; making it to be a new
beginning. Let there be a new beginning in your life in the name of Jesus
Christ……Amen.
I want you to understand that our
Lord Jesus Christ did not joke with prayer when He was on Earth. The first
thing He did immediately He began His Ministry was to pray. Matthew
4:1-11…Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the Mountain to be tempted by
the devil. He went up to the Mountain to pray. It was recorded in Luke 4:1-13
that Jesus Christ was praying; He started His ministry with prayer. Mark
1:35…. Jesus went into a solitary place, throughout the night He prayed till
morning. Luke 6:12….Jesus Christ went into a solitary place and prayed
fervently; Jesus Christ prayed and because He prayed, we have to pray too.
Matthew 17:1-5…..He prayed to the extent that His appearance was altered, He
started shining, He prayed and the kingdom of heaven came down. Moses and
Elijah appeared, prayer caused that to happen; Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In Luke 9:28-29…. He prayed, Jesus is still praying
and He is at the right hand of God interceding for us. Do you know that as holy
as holy spirit is, as gentle as the holy spirit is, He still praying for us.
Romans 8:26…..Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses, For we do not
know what we should pray….The bible made up understand that the spirit also
intercede for us. Holy spirit teaches us, intercedes for us, and prays for us,
and God Himself is praying for us. If God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit prays,
this means that we the Children of God must pray. I do not know what the
enemies have told you concerning your life, that prayer cannot fix; prayer can
fix it.
When you are praying there are three
important things you have to hold on to;
(1). You must pray with faith- when
you pray, you must have faith in God. Hebrews 11:6….But without faith it is
impossible to please Him, for he who comes must believe……
(2). You must trust God- God wants
you to trust Him. Psalm 125:1…..Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount
Zion, which cannot be moved…. God is the one you have to trust. Psalm
127:1….Unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain…..If you want to
build a house, let God build it for you; if God builds a house for you, it
shall be built; but if He does not build it, it can never be built. Trust in
God all the day. Proverbs 3:5-6…..Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and
lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths…
(3). You must live in holiness- If
our life is not holy we cannot get the result of prayer; prayer cannot replace
holiness. We have to keep ourselves holy; and when we live a holy life God is
ready to answer us.
Act 12:5-19 was on account of Peter-
He was kept in prison basement, he was chained down, with two soldiers still monitoring him. All the doors were locked, and no prisoner could escape;
about the time Herod was about to kill him, the saints of the house were
praying for him. In the time of calamity God will pray for you; in the time of
calamity God will cause you to escape in the name of Jesus Christ. Peter’s
escape was so surprising, even those praying for him could not believe that
Peter could be delivered in such a way. The guards died in place of Peter,
Herod killed all the guards because the prison and the gates were still locked
up after he left; and while he was leaving everybody was sleeping. Ladies and gentlemen, God is
still in the business of delivering His people; He is still in the business of
making His people escape death; you will escape death in the name of Jesus
Christ.
What Prayer Can Do In Our Life:
(1). Prayer can change situation;No
matter how terrible your situation is, prayer can change it. 1 Chronicles
4:9-10…..Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother
called his name Jabez saying “because I bore him in pain.” and Jabez
called on the almighty god of Israel saying “Oh that you will bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you keep me from evil, that i may not cause pain!”and the
Lord granted him his request. God changed his situation, he was known for
sorrow, calamity, evil, poverty, backwardness, failure, but the Lord changed
his situation. Is there anybody in the shoes of Jabez, by your prayer the Lord
God Almighty will change your situation, the Lord will turn your life around,
as He did it for Jabez, in the name of Jesus. Are you under a curse, a spell,
under generational curse, ancestral curse, or hereditary bondage; as you pray
and cry unto the Lord, your prayer will be granted; your situation will change;
all curses shall be cancelled and reversed, and the Lord will turn your curses
to blessing in the name of Jesus. Hezekiah was sick to the point of death, and
the Lord sent Isaiah to Hezekiah saying “set your house in order for you
shall die and not live.” Isaiah 38:1-5. But the man said “my
situation can change, I am not going to accept death.” The bible said
“Hezekiah prayed and wept to the Lord” The Lord sent  Isaiah back to
Hezekiah saying “I have heard your cry, and I have added 15 more years to
your life.” Prayer changes situation, your situation will change today in
the name of Jesus.

(2). Prayer causes victory over all
the stubborn enemies, and stubborn pursuers-Haman was a stubborn enemy, he was determined to destroy
Mordecai but the bible made us understand that there was a woman on the thrown
whose name was Esther….. Esther 4:16….Go gather all the Jews who are present in
Shushan, fast for me neither eat nor drink for three days, Night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise and so i will go to the king, which is against the law; and if i perish, i perish!”  …..They fasted the 1st, 2nd and on the 3rd day, Esther showed up
to the king; Esther 5:1-3….Before she spoke the king spoke…..And the king
said to her “what do you wish Queen Esther? What is your request….”
This woman has not seen the king for the past one month; you cannot see the
king unless you are invited. But she was not invited, but because with prayer and with God in you, your
enemies will be dumbfounded. Esther 5:14…Haman was advised to make a gallow
fifty cubits high for Mordecai; in Esther 6:13….Those who advised Haman
dissociated themself from him. Esther 7:10….So they hanged Haman on the
gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai….. Because somebody prayed; every
arrow the enemies are shooting on you, back to sender in the name of Jesus.
Ecclesiastes 10:8 … He who digs a pit will fall into it… Proverb 26:27…Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone
will have it roll back on him….
(3). Prayer destroys every satanic
imprisonment- Prayer destroys the chains and shackle they have put on us. We
walk by faith not by sight; Jeremiah 29:11….. For I know the thoughts that I
think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil…… The
interpretation is I know the level which you are supposed to be, I know the
position that you are supposed to be, you should have been greater than this;
you should have been higher than this; and the Lord will take you to the
position He has ordained for your life in the name of Jesus. There might not be
physical chain, but there are spiritual chains in our life; the bible says Paul
and Silas were kept in prison in Acts 16:25-30….But at midnight Paul and
Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and the prisoners were listening to
them Suddenly… When you are praying, God will come suddenly, Holy Ghost will come suddenly,
blessing, miracle, joy, breakthrough, peace, victory, and healing will come
suddenly. The bible says there was a great earthquake, so the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed….
We must pray to cause a great
earthquake against our enemies, against satanic imprisonment, against every
plan of the enemies. Every chain in our lives has been loosed for we walk by faith and not by sight, while the enemies of  Daniel were busy with him, Daniel was busy with his God In Daniel 6:10…When he knew that the writing was signed, he went home and in his upper room with his windows open towards Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days….the bible told us that they threw him into the den of Lion but the Lord delivered him. In Daniel 6:23-24.. the bible said that they picked Daniel back in the morning because the lion did not touch him and they threw all his enemies into the den and before they got to the bottom, the lion overpowered them and ate them. He is still the same God and will deliver us for he is God and not a man……
