April 5th, 2015- IF HE DID NOT GO TO THE CROSS

IF  HE  DID  NOT  GO TO  THE  CROSS
Matthew 26:39-42

He went a little farther  and fell on His face  and prayed , saying, “O My Father, if it is possible,” let this cup pass from me ; nevertheless, “not  as I will, but as You will”. Then He came  to the  disciples  and found  them sleeping  and said to Peter, “What ? Could you  not  watch with Me one hour?
“Watch  and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh  is weak.”
“Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying,” O  My Father, If this cup cannot pass away  from  Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
“If it was possible, let this cup pass from me.”

1.    God did not grant it for Him.
God  says  Yes  and  gives  us  what is requested. God says No and  gives  us something better. God says Wait and  gives us something  different.
God  says  He will give us  the best. In John 11:39-44, the Bible verse  explains how Jesus raised Lazarus from death. In John 19:30, the Bible  verse says when  Jesus had received the sour wine, He said  “ It is finished”.  And bowing His head, He gave up  His  spirit. Jesus says the  bondage  of Satan  is over(finished) in our lives. . In  Genesis 15:13-15, Then He said to Abraham, know certainly that your descendants  will be strangers  in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict  them for four hundred years .  And  also the nation whom they serve, I  will judge afterward, they shall  come out with great possessions. Now as for you,  you shall  go to your fathers in peace, you shall be buried at a good old age. The Bible verse  told us how God revealed to Abraham that the Israelites will be in bondage in a foreign land and afterward He will deliver them. Psalm 81:10 says,” I am the Lord your God, who brought you out
of the land of Egypt, Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.”  In Exodus  chapters 1,2and3, the Bible verses explains how  God brought out Israel  from  bondage.  Jesus says the bondage of Satan  over  in our lives and the Lord shall deliver us in Jesus Name. Amen.

2.    I f He did not go to the cross , there wouldn’t have been victory for us.
As children of God, anyone  attacking us spiritually or physically is just wasting his time. Revelation 12:11 says,  “And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to death”. The blood of Jesus Christ has given  us victory. Exodus 12:13 says “ Now  the blood shall be a sign for you  on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood I will pass over you and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” When we are struck or defeated  by the devil, we receive victory by the blood of Jesus. Again Colossians 2:15 says “ Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them , triumphing over them in it,” Isaiah 7:7 says “ Thus says  the Lord God, It shall not stand nor shall it come to pass” Jesus says,  just speak the word of God  against  principalities and powers and the works of Satan  shall not stand against
  the children of God.

3.    If He did not go to the cross we wouldn’t have eternal life.
Because Jesus died for us on the cross of Calvary, we therefore have eternal life. 1  Corinthians 15:55 says “ O death, where is your sting? O Hades,  where is your victory?”  The sting of death is sin but thanks be to God who  has given  us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Roman 6:23 says, “the wages of sin is death but  the gift of  God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our  Lord. We believe in Jesus and by His crucifixion and the gift of eternal  life, we  shall see no more  sorrow, no more death, no more weeping, no more sickness.
AMEN
