Then He spoke many things to them in parables saying “ Behold a sower went out to sow and as he sowed, some seed fell by the way side and the birds came and devoured them.
Some fell on stony places where they did not have much earth and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched and because they had no root they withered away.
And some fell among thorns and the thorns sprang up and chocked them.
But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop. Some a hundred fold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Vs 18-23
Therefore, hear the parable of the sower: “ When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked ones comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way side.
But he who receives the seed on stony places , this is he who hears the word and immediately receive it with joy. Yet he has no root in himself but endures only for a while, for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles..
Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word and he becomes unfruitful.
But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruits and produces : some are hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
INTERPRETATIONS
Our God is a great God, He is everlasting, He is mighty and whoever does the will of God receives His glory. Some people are not doing anything for God in the church of God. Psalm 34:8 says” Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him”. Again, Psalm 73:1 says “ Truly, God is good to Israel, To such as are pure in heart.” Psalm 118:1 and 136:1 says “ Oh give thanks to God for He is good for His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 135:1 says “ Praise the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord, Praise Him O you servants of the Lord.” God is good. Isaiah 40:18 says “ To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him? God is Incomparable. He is the Holy God. Genesis 3:9 .“ Then the Lord God called to Adam and said “ Where are you.?” Here, God was not referring to where Adam was standing but his spiritual life.” Therefore , WHERE ARE YOU?
1. THOSE THAT FALL BY THE WAY SIDE:
Here, this group of people hear the word of God but the devil takes it away from them. Joshua 24:15 says “ And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.” “ But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” As a child of God, you have to drop your iniquities and surrender yourself to God. Psalm 24:1 says “ The earth is the Lord’s and its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.” You have to understand your master and don’t go after fettish priest.” Exodus 23:25 says “ So you shall serve the Lord your God and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you”. God says He will bless your water and bread. So Brethren, do not think about your problems, just cast your burthen unto
Jesus. In the presence of God, bring your heart and soul home. As a child of God, you should stop smoking ,drunkenness etc. If you do not keep the word of God, you are on the way side.
2. THOSE THAT FALL ON THE ROCK OR STONY GROUNDS:
This group of people flourish in the church and later disappear. In other words, they took the word of God from stolen grounds. John 3:27 says “ A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.” Again, James 1:17 says” Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” It is only God that makes things happen. That is why Psalm 34:15 says” The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their cry”. Psalm 22:4-5 says ‘ Our fathers trusted in You, They trusted and You delivered them. They cried to You and were delivered. They trusted in You and were not ashamed.” Brethren, just trust in God and He will make things happen in your life.
3. THOSE THAT FALL BY THE THORNS:
Truly speaking, anything that grows on thorns will not be productive. Jesus says in John 14:6 “ I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” 2 Corinthians 8:9 says ”For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though He was rich yet for your sakes He became poor that you through His poverty might become rich.” God wants us to be rich, profitable and fruitful. Our family members can be the thorns and choke us.
4. THOSE THAT FALL ON GOOD GROUNDS:
You cannot be a Christian and be suffering. You are suffering because you have not tapped into His anointing. “ Isaiah 53:5 says “ But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed.” Jeremiah 8:22 says “ Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery for the health of the daughter of my people?” You cannot be with God and physicians are using your body for experiment in the hospital, in other words, they are taking the healing away from God. Psalm 92:13 says” Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” God says He will give us long life and everyone who produces good fruit shall flourish. Therefore, every ministry / child of God that is not prospering is a disgrace to the kingdom of God.
