Text: Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
The beginning of all beginnings is God. All and everything has a beginning, except for God, who has no beginning nor ending. The beginning of a thing (both living and non-living) is the root thereof, the offshoot of that thing. The furniture (a non-living thing) we have at home has its beginning from a tree (a living thing) in the forest.
Just like the furniture has a beginning with the creativity of the inventor, likewise is man; who began in the womb as an embryo and formed into a full human. Similarly, every person that’ll turn a believer must have a beginning. And that beginning is called SALVATION.
What is salvation?
Salvation is a state of being saved or protected from harm, danger, or loss. It is the deliverance of the soul from sin and its consequences. To be saved you need to pass through the process…the process of being born-again.
John 3:3 says “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”” The emphasis here is “unless one is born again.
Being born again is the acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ as that person’s Savior, Lord and Master of his/her soul. The grace of God ushers us into accepting Jesus as our Savior. And how do we come to this state? Romans 10:8-11 says “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.””
Brethren, the WORD (Jesus) is near you. Don’t resist him. Hear the word, allow Him to come in, to give you a BEGINNING. Remember Hebrews 3:15 says “while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”” So start your beginning today, harden not your heart, accept Jesus Christ and let your Christian life begin today with Jesus. Hallelujah!
